Commander One: File Manager App Reviews

The Commander One is just a file manager on the free version. The real FTP comes only with the PRO version, which in my oppinion, was a misleading advertising on its description. That’s why I rate it with 1 star and have it uninstalled right away.

I’ve been looking for something like the TotalCommander for Mac for a long time now. With Commander One I’ve found it! It has all the functionality I usually use for handling different files and sorting them. I’m looking forward to further developments hopefully including more features from the original in Windows. For most things the free version is enough.

I have purchased full version only for FTP purposes and I am very dissapointed, I have run in the same time on same computer two file commanders and ftp download in virtual box (total commander on windows 10) and in the same time on my macos in One Commander , total commander finished within few minutes and one commander still copying … one file I mean really small few kb file is copied 2-4 seconds. Same server, same computer but two different environments 1. MacosX - oracle virtualbox (Total Commander win app) 2. MacosX - One Commander So I have asked for refund but they have ignored me, it was wasted money for me. This file commander is not prepared to use as an FTP client. Windows Total Commander is still the best.

Would be great if there was an option to sort by "date modified" (with sort by "date created" feeling not realtime)(((

Первые полчаса использования - полный восторг. Наиболее точное приближение к функцоналу Total Commander на Mac из всего, что я видел. Требует настройки горячих главиш для полной адаптации, но делается за это за пару минут. Очень обрадовала интеграция с Google Drive - можно использовать облако как сетевой диск! Очень хочется, чтобы проект развивался. Жду теперь разделение цветов четных и нечетных строчек, хотя бы как в Finder. The first half hour of use - awesome. The most accurate approach to Total Commander on the Mac from all I saw. It requires some hotkey changes to achieve a full adaptation, but it is done in a couple of minutes. Very pleased with the integration of Google Drive - you can use the cloud as a network drive! Hope this project will progress. Now Im waiting for the striped table like in the Finder.

Tried a few similar apps: Disk Order, ForkLift, MidnightCommander and others. This one (Commander One) I like more so far. It has familiar keyboard shortcuts, expand selection feature, quick file navigation and other handy features.

I come from a PC environment and so have only used my Macbook Pro for a while now. Finder is OK but no where near what I had come to expect from my PC file manager. Commander one is much closer to my previous environment. I would reccomend it to anyone looking to expand on Finder’s offering. Fast and accurate. I have never had it crash and it has been hassle free since I installed it. I would like to see a couple of enhancements but I am sure they will come and frankly the product covers all my needs effortlessly. Give it a try.

This is one of the best file manager app for Mac. Very easy to use. The app works really fast and has really powerful features. It’s very convenient to organize your file system with such a great app. Definitely recommend it!

I remembered when I was using TotalCommander on my PC. Then I changed to Mac but I never found any similar file manager app that supports dual panel. Until this one. Its dual panel feature is exactly what I need so I can move files between folders more easily and productively.

I like to use this app to manage my File system of OS X .The shortcut of operatation is so easy and so useful.Also i like the search feature of this app.It allow to input regular expressions to search files.So i can easily and fast to find what i need to find.

The utility was not able to establish simple FTP connection to my site, while Finder and browser was able to do it. The only reason I tried this app is to be able to write to FTP, but was not even able to connect. The error messages are not descriptive, so I, programmer with 25 years of experience, had no clue what’s wrong.

Good app. Please add next feature and I will throw away competitor product and will buy pro :) Commander One misses files comparison feature or at least possibility to execute external commands with 2 selected files as parameters. + one UX hint: next time Search dialog appears - leave previous criterias and search results. User needs it. Thanks! Waiting for an update.

If you are downloading the free version of this product, then like myself you are already looking to an alternative, more productive portal to your files. This app goes so far beyond what you even thought might be in one package, you will certainly be very satisfied with the purchase. If you consider your time is money, then the time this app will save you, pays for it’s self in just a few days. I say days because until you get your head around all the possibilities, the time to learn all of the potiential of this app, one cannot begin to estimate how nice commander is and an essential application. Keep this in mind while you are reviewing the free version. I highly recomend this product. :-)

what a waste of time to allow free version and yet not allow mtp file transfer, the only reason anyone downloads the app so why the h#@! offer a free version in the first place, and based on my experience so far i suppose the pro version wouldn’t end up working either, lemme just hand over my credit card just because!!!

Once in a great while a truly great utility comes along. This is one. VERY quick and easy to use. Two suggestions: 1) Allow column view within each window/tab. 2) Allow larger column widths to accommodate large font sizes. Also the ability to change the font AND SIZE is priceless. Truly well thought out and implemented!!! Thanks ... Ken

I just bought my first Mac and after coming from 20 years of Windows computers (Start me up! If you start me up I’ll never stop! Remember Windows 95?) I can’t believe how crummy the “Finder” app on OS X is! Commander One is EVERYTHING that is missing from Mac file management. This Program rocks! And it’s free! Are you kidding me? Get it before they start charging a bundle!

Worthy successor of the legendary Total Commander for Windows. By far, the best on the market. Despite some cons, currently it is the most useful app on my Mac. Hope it is long-term project and will be supported and improved in future.
